About the event

Ghana is a home to an amazing diversity of traditional cultures, from which the once mighty kingdoms of the Ashanti. This tour explores Egypt and 5 regions of Ghana starting in Accra, one of West Africa’s liveliest cities before crossing into various regions to witness traditional naming ceremonies deep within the swamps. We also explore stilt villages and interesting cultural sites.  In Ghana, we look for sacred shrine in the forest and travel through the lands of the Asante and Fante, witness Akɔm spiritual drumming & dancing with spirit possession as well as visiting the fishing village of Elmina, home to an imposing slave castle dating back more than 500 years!

You can expect to eceive teachings from local priest and priestesses at their respective shrines.  

We will be focusing on Ghana (Greater Accra Region, Ahafo Region, Central Region, Ashanti Region-Kumasi & Eastern Region). We will be visiting popular cultural tourist sites, in addition to working with traditional priests and priestesses of the Akan spiritual practices. The climax of the tour will be the Pana fest in Cape Coast on July 28th! Finishing with a departure from Eastern region on the 31st July to Accra.
